FAQ

How does claiming a street work?

Walk it. Your route is matched onto the real street map, and every street you cover is painted green. With friends, the player who has walked a street on the most walks owns it. A tie shows as contested — until someone settles it.

Is it free?

Yes. The app is free to download and use.

Do I need an account?

No. Tracking and painting work without any account. You only sign in (with Apple) if you want to add friends and compete.

What about my location data?

Your walks are stored on your device and in your private iCloud. If you sign in and add friends, your walk routes sync so friends can see them on their map — that’s the whole point. Nothing is sold, shared or used for ads. Details in Legal.

Does it drain my battery?

Tracking uses GPS while a walk is running, similar to other walking apps. The app only tracks during an active walk — never in the background between walks.

Can I import walks from Apple Health?

Yes — King of the Block can read your outdoor workouts (walks, runs, hikes, rides) from Apple Health and paint them on your map. Imported workouts colour your own map only — walks tracked live in the app are what count in the competition with friends. One caveat: only workouts from the day you got the app onward count — your older Apple Health history can’t be imported. Read-only: we never write to Apple Health.
